About this audio file – it’s not really an official podcast since there’s no sponsorship, production studio, or editing involved – I don’t even use special software – I record (in one take) an audio message on my iPhone “Voice Memo”, then upload the file to Soundcloud, and send it out to the world. Simple and from the heart, just how I like it.
The idea was born out of how often my friends and I share audio messages on Whatsapp and how long our messages often are. A few of us refer to our Whatsapp messages as mini podcasts. I look forward to hearing them from my friends, their voices, it’s so intimate and special. Nothing produced, polished, or perfect – just a raw chain of thought.
Then I thought, why don’t I record these types of messages for my online community? It would be fun, and I know how to do it since I had a professionally produced interiors podcast for two seasons with 16 episodes, called Hello Holly. We flew guests to Hamburg where we recorded in a sound studio and it was wonderful.
However, the HOLLY magazin project with Sinja, Verena, Eva, Andreas and the lovely team at Living At Home ended and I had no Plan B. The end happened so abruptly and with Corona and all of the lock downs at that time, I honestly didn’t think I’d continue with Hello Holly on itunes. It was too much work, time, and money. I decided to put it on ice for awhile. Well, more than for awhile, I took off from podcasting for over a year.
For 2022, I decided to take a calmer, gentler approach to podcasting. I felt determined to record again, only instead to create audio love notes for you – once a week – for 2022. In fact, this is my 2022 project and it’s completely free to you and none of them will be sponsored and zero advertisements. Each audio file will run for 10-30 minutes max, but I’d like the standard run time to be around 10-15 minutes so that I can speak to you on a topic that’s hot on my mind at the moment – mostly around creativity, home/interiors, lifestyle, trends, small business, entrepreneurship – all of the things that I write about and love most, and also teach on, in my online classes.
To kick off this new series, let’s discuss what you’d like to achieve in 2022… Here is the file below, you can click below to listen to it.
